Today we went to Akihabara - the area with all of the electronics, maid cafes, amd anime figures. It was an overwhelming amount of electronics- dad would be in heaven. We ate at a random place and got eel and rice because all we could do was point to the one photo on the menu since we couldn't read anything else. we were still hungry after so we went right to the Auntie Anne's we spotted when we got off the metro. They have amazing floors of massage chairs so we sat in some of those and then headed back after shopping around. I went to the gym for the first time here and there's a huge sign that says no cameras, phones, or tattoos to enter the spa areas. Japanese people get really offended by tattoos and you can't even go in some restaurants if you have them. We splurged for dinner and went to a place called Kyubey which was by far the best meal of both of our lives. There were only 10 spots at the sushi counter and you basically just trust the chef to give you what is best that day. The restaurant once bought half a tuna for $9 million- pretty crazy. The waitresses were in traditional kimono outfits and would squat down by us. It was a take your shoes off place but there was a cut out under the counter to put your legs down so you didn't have to sit Indian style. I was loving it!! we wrote down all of the food because it was amazing!! He gave us different sauces/ spices and told us how each piece should be eaten. One of the courses the chef presented a big shrimp on a platter and it was still moving and alive and he asked if I wanted it fresh or cooked. I went with cooked because I wasn't sure if he would just hand the shrimp to me like that. Amazing meal!! Their toilet had a button that said "flushing sound" with a volume adjust button which I thought was funny.
